On June 19, 2011, our team, “Quinn’s Journey” organized our first annual Spirit Wheel Walk Run Event in Lindsay, Ontario. Leading the Walk, was 3 year old Quinn Fraser, who at 4 months, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus.
It was a small event for our first time, having 12 people, all close family and friends. We left the house at 10:30 on Father’s Day and walked along Kent Stre
et, the main street in Lindsay, all the way up to the local hospital, where Quinn has visited a few times. Our walk was a total of 5.8 km. We proudly displayed our banner, handed out pens and bookmarks and answered questions to those who asked.
When asked why we were walking, our answer was simple...because we want to bring awareness to others about spina bifida and hydrocephalus and raise money for the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario. We would love to find a cure for these two conditions!
Our family can’t wait for next year’s SWWR Event where we plan to make it even bigger. This year’s total was $620...way to go Quinn’s Journey!!
