SB&H believes that all persons, either with or without disability, have the right to pursue higher education. We also realize that the obstacles to be overcome by students with disabilities are far more numerous and often of greater magnitude than those faced by able-bodied students.

Each year SB&H plays a key role in encouraging students with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus to continue their education through the assistance of two scholarship programs:

The Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick Scholarship Program

Established in 1990, and named in honour of Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick's on-going support and outstanding service to our members, this scholarship is awarded on an annual basis to one or more students planning to continue their education at any accredited university or college, technical or trade school, career institute or school of business.

The Luciana Spring Mascarin Bursary Program

This bursary was established in 1993 to benefit students residing in the Windsor District, and is named in memory of Luciana Mascarin, to honour her love of education. The bursary is awarded annually to one or more students planning to continue their education at any accredited university or college, technical or trade school, career institute or school of business
