How is SB diagnosed during pregnancy?

I am not really sure how they diagnose it. You may want to ask a physician that question. I think they run some tests on the pregnant woman to see if she has SB.

I think the thread starter meant how is it diagnosed in the baby, not the mother! I would assume that the mother would know if she had it! Anyway, sometimes it can be diagnosed at the 12 week scan, but it's much more common for it to be diagnosed at an anomaly scan - which is a very difficult thing for a pregnant woman, as I imagine that a lot would abort at 12 weeks (I don't agree with that, by the way, but each to their own) whereas aborting at 20 weeks would be a much more difficult decision. Often, though, it is not diagnosed at all during pregnancy, and it is only found that the child has the condition after birth - which is a huge shock for the parents!
