Default Lipomyelomeningocele

Just new here.* My daughter has this form of OSD.* We live in Ottawa.* Even though it is lumped within the term 'occult', her condition is far from hidden.* She was born with a fatty mass on her left buttock and at birth was diagnosed with a tethered cord.* So far, she's had two untetherings.* We traveled to TO last year to have the cecostomy procedure and finally, at the age of 6, she was in underwear.

I look forward to meeting other parents here who deal with bladder/bowel issues and the day to day fear of retethering.

Default Hello

My daughter Payton was also born with lipmyelonmeningocele a fatty mass over her right cheek. She has had one surgery for tethered cord and they didn't get it all untethered. We deal this bladder problems every day. She is now 12 going on 13 in August. So I have been down the road a bit. If you want to talk, I am here.
Colleen
