CDC recommendations for folic acid
I find it interesting that CDC recommends all women 15+ take folic acid just in case of unplanned pregnancy.
But what about ages younger than that? We know that there are children younger than 14 having intercourse and sometimes getting pregnant. Those babies aren't protected by the recommendations. So, they cover the 15-18 minors that might get pregnant. Who chose the cutoff? What do you think about this recommendation and the choice to make the recommendation state 15.
