Default Costs of Spina Bifida.

What are the economic and social costs associated with Spina Bifida?

I was looking at www.kintera.org and saw that it cost $532,000 for one child with spina bifida. I did not think it cost that much for one child with spina bifida.

One source I looked said that for one child it cost $532,000 who has spina bifida. I would not want to deal with 10 people who have it. The amount of money you would have to bring in would be $5,320,000 and I wish I had that much money.

The cost is bound to be high, because you would have to have everything in your home adapted at some point to make sure that you could get around and live as independently as you possibly could. In a lot of countries, you would get help from the government. I am from the UK and I know that there are payments available to people who struggle to earn enough money to deal with a condition. In other countries where this is not possible, though, I imagine that people might struggle, and I feel that there should be a lot more help put in place for those who are in that situation.

This is the main reason why I need to make sure I have enough folic acid in my system. Otherwise I would not be able afford dealing with spina bifida.
