Default should I push for an MRI?

My 7 month old daughter has just be diagnosed (through xray only) with Spina Bifida Occulta.* We went for an xray about a month ago because of a dimple that I spotted*by her tailbone.** I was told by her GP that She will recieve an MRI when she is older (4 or 5 years old) and would like to know if this is acceptable or if I shoud be pushing for one ealier? * Thank You for any help Cora

Default should I push for an MRI?

Hello Cora,

My opinion would be, If she is not showing any signs of discomfort in her lower back or any other problems related with Spina Bifida Occulta then I would hold off from doing the MRI until she is 4 or 5 years old. But if any problems arise in the mean-time then I would be asking for an MRI to be done A.S.A.P.

Hope this helps!

Hi Cora

My nephew was also diagnosed with Oculta and he is 18 years old and played football in High School as well as other activities.
