Default scoliosis surgery

Hello, I have a daughter age 11 with spina bifida who has developed a severe scoliosis - now over 60 degrees and we are contemplating surgery for correction. My daughter is an active wheelchair user and loves to dance in her chair. We are considering a correction that involves an anterior release, a probable spinal osteotomy and then either anterior or posterior instrumentation with fusion. our surgeon has been amazingly helpful, but given the magnitude of the surgery, we were wondering if there was anyone else out there who has had this or a similar procedure and could let us know how this went and was it worth it. any assistance would be appreciated. marty
