TEE IT UP FOR SB&H! GREAT NEW LOCATION!

On Tuesday, May 28th, 2013, at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket, the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario will host the 8th Annual 100-Hole Charity Golf Challenge. The Golf Challenge is perfect for EVERY skill level. It’s not a tournament. We don’t even keep score. The entire course is ours for the day, so you can play as many holes as you wish. It’s truly “no stress” golf. The emphasis is on FUN!

Ever dreamed of playing 100 holes in a single day? It may sound too good to be true, but every year several golfers rise to the challenge and achieve this lofty goal! This year, it could be YOU!

We are thrilled that Sportsnet 590 TheFAN’s Eric Smith is coming out to support our event for the 3rd consecutive year. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet Eric, as well as golf with him. Eric’s golf skills will be on display during the day, and he’ll show off his emcee talents in the evening during our dinner and awards presentation!

All the forms you need to play are just a click away. Excellent sponsorship packages are also available.

See our ad below for more details and make sure to forward it to friends, family or colleagues. There are many reasons to be a part of our 100-Hole Golf Challenge. The number one reason is...

100 Hole Golf Challenge 2012…A Huge Success!

The SB&H seventh annual 100-hole event was a great day for everyone who attended. It was quite windy, but Mother Nature cooperated and the rain held off despite all the weather predictions!
Over $28,000 was raised, with proceeds going towards vital SB&H programs, services and support. Top fundraisers were Marc Garson, Kelly Wilson and Adriana Cinapri. Great job everyone!

Pat McGrade, a Detective with 22 Division in Toronto, contributed over $1,800 by creating a unique fundraiser. He organized and participated in “Dunk The Detective… Sink The Sarge … Swamp The Supt.” Pat gave Toronto’s finest an opportunity to be “dunkers”!  He invited everyone to come out and give it their best shot (with a ball)!!
“My oldest boy was born with spina bifida.  Thankfully it is a very mild case. Nonetheless, it is a cause close to me.  My son and I have participated in the SB&H golf challenge for the last two years.  The golf is fun, but the main reason is to raise awareness and raise some money.”

This year, Pat shattered his own record by completing a staggering 205 holes! Apparently, Pat thought our event was called the 200-Hole Charity Golf Challenge!!!  Congratulations to Rob Terry, Eric Smith, Dave Falardeau, Tony Clouter, and Pat’s son Ryan McGrade who were also up to the challenge and played over 100 holes. Well done gentlemen!

A special thank you to Druxy’s who sponsored our lunch for the 7th consecutive year. Everybody LOVED the barbeque!

Fun was the theme of the day. Golf professional Leslie Booth volunteered her time to give lessons and offer advice to our players throughout the day, and registered massage therapist Sandy Levy was there to loosen up any muscles crying out for a little pampering!

Media personalities Eric Smith and Paul Jones of Sportsnet the FAN 590, and freelance broadcaster Bill Hayes played a few holes and chatted with our golfers. Eric once again did a superb job as Master of Ceremonies during dinner and led a very boisterous and successful live auction where those in attendance bid on some amazing items.

Everyone who came out and played walked away with a gift bag and there were great prizes for contest winners!
