It’s different! It’s fun! It’s exciting!

On Tuesday, May 29th, 2012, the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario will host our annual Charity Golf Challenge at Streetsville Glen Golf Club in Mississauga. This 100-hole event is a unique and enjoyable way to get out and hone your skills for the summer golf season. Golfers can play as many holes as they like, with 100 being the ultimate goal. Where else can you play over 5 rounds of golf in one day?

We are thrilled that Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Eric Smith has agreed once again to come out to play and support our event. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet Eric and golf with him.

The SB&H 100 Hole Charity Golf Challenge uses a unique format that challenges participants to play 100 holes in a single 8 hour period! We have special rules for fast play and you have an entire day at Streetsville Glen Golf Club. After a quick breakfast you can tee off by 8:30 a.m. and complete 100 holes by 4:30 in the afternoon.

Some reasons to play in our event.....

Jumpstart your season – much more fun and challenging than hitting endless buckets of balls at the driving range

Test yourself - when you set a lofty goal for yourself, you will always remember the feeling of triumph when you beat the odds. We know you can do it!

Play all day - challenge yourself to play 100 holes. That’s over 5 rounds of golf in one day! We don’t keep score so this is truly no stress golf. It’s great fun!

Foursomes not required - bring a playing partner, play as a single or team up with another golfer once you arrive

No crowds - we have the course to ourselves

Prizes - earn prizes for the most pledges, longest drive, closest to the pin and more. Every golfer gets a prize for coming out.

The number one reason of all - PROCEEDS SUPPORT SB&H PROGRAMS AND SERVICES!

There are NO FEES – your golf day is free! All we ask from our players is that they raise pledges.

So come out and play this spring. Our 2012 event is shaping up to be the BEST yet. Bring your friends, your energy and enthusiasm!

OUR 2011 GOLF CHALLENGE

At our most recent event, on Tuesday May 31st, 2011, players took on our challenge despite the unusually hot weather, and a great time was had by all who participated. Top fundraisers were Marc Garson, the Wilson family, and Adriana Cinapri. Over $40,000 was raised, with proceeds going towards vital SB&H programs and services.

Golf Professional Leslie Booth offered advice and gave lessons to our players throughout the day and Sandy Levy, registered massage therapist, helped loosen up our golfers with his magic hands.

Media personalities Bill Hayes, formerly of Q107, Toronto Raptors television voice Matt Devlin and Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Eric Smith came out to play with golfers. They did a fantastic job promoting our Golf Challenge to raise awareness of spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Eric also served as our Master of Ceremonies and led our most successful live auction to date!
