Special Olympics Toronto is happy to announce an exciting opportunity through Bust a Move Dance (BAMD).  BAMD is a leading dance company for children, teens and adults with disabilities in Brisbane, Australia.  The company’s Director, Ali Philips would like to offer our Special Olympics Ontario athletes an opportunity to participate in one of her classes here in the GTA!

The Youth Weekend Retreat is designed to support independent experiences. It is for young adults to come together for a weekend of specialized services including life skills strategies, recreation activities and social opportunities.

When: Friday, January 20 to Sunday January 22, 2017

Where: YMCA Geneva Park (in Orillia)

Who: Youth with Physical Disabilities and/or Acquired Brain Injuries

Ages: 16-18 (up to 21 if still in high school)

Meetings provide a safe and comfortable environment where adults with hydrocephalus can learn more about their condition or express their emotions, difficulties and share successes without judgment. Spouses, partners and other family members also participate and provide unique insights into how hydrocephalus can affect entire families.

The group gathers at the SB&H office on the last Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
