We are very excited to share a new opportunity with you! The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario has partnered with OurGV Rewards to launch the new SB&H Yahoo Toolbar. Use it for ALL of your internet searches to raise funds and awareness for SB&H!
The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Toolbar uses a Yahoo! search engine and does not replace your existing toolbar(s). The features of the Toolbar are designed to help us raise funds in a non-intrusive way. There are no pop-up windows, adware, spyware or customer tracking – your privacy is important to us.
By using the SB&H Yahoo Toolbar you raise funds for SB&H every time you search for a product or a service on the internet!
You can find the same information as you do with your current search engine. When you click on a sponsored link (anything listed in the shaded area at the top of the results or on the right side of the page) you are raising money per click for the Association. THERE IS NO COST TO YOU!
The Toolbar also offers a direct link to the SB&H Mall where you can shop online AND support SB&H AT THE SAME TIME. Use the Mall for your everyday needs or gift shopping at over 1,000 stores, including major retailers such as Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Sears, Westjet, Expedia and more. Every item you buy at the Mall generates funds for SB&H!
Share this quick and easy fundraising initiative with all of your friends and family by clicking on “Refer a Friend” and following the instructions.
Searching and clicking on sponsored links a few times a day or buying items through the SB&H Online Shopping Mall - that you were going to buy any way - will raise much-needed funds for SB&H programs and services.

How to Download the SB&H Toolbar
1. Click on the link DOWNLOAD THE TOOLBAR or on the graphic of the toolbar above.
2. Type your email address into the appropriate box on the page
3. Click the "Accept the Terms" box after reading the Terms and Conditions
4. Click the "Download Now" link for either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, depending on which browser you would like to use. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the toolbar.
5. Remind all your family and friends to download the SB&H Toolbar. Remember that every bit helps SB&H!
How to Use the SB&H Toolbar for Your Searches That Benefit SB&H
Making use of your new SB&H Toolbar for internet searches can help SB&H, but only if you use it the right way, and that's really easy!
- Start by entering any item of interest (shoes, travel, the name of a local restaurant) into the window just to the right of the SB&H logo in the toolbar.
- Locate the Sponosored Results that are at the top of the list of results either in a shaded area or separated from the regular results by a horizontal line or listed under a title like," Sponsored Results" on the right side of the page.
- Each time you click on a link within the Sponsored Results, you generate money for the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario.
Please note that money is only generated from clicking on Sponsored Results, not from the searches alone and NOT from clicking on the links that are NOT Sponsored Results.
- Instead of clicking your brower's "BACK" button, the left-facing arrow, to return to your list of results, enter a new search term in the window beside the SB&H logo for each search or enter the same term in the window to go to another result for the same item. By repeating this same pattern for the whole year, you can generate hundreds or even thousands of dollars for SB&H!
- Lastly, it is important that you search naturally. That means, don't search repeatedly for the same thing with the intent of generating funds for SB&H. Any unnatural search patterns can be tracked and don't help SB&H. Just search for the items that you would normally search for, but use the SB&H Toolbar.
Shop at the SB&H Mall
Another great feature of the SB&H Toolbar is the "Shop" button. Click it and you will instantly be connected to the SB&H Mall where you have access to an incredible variety of stores and businesses! Reward yourself for some hard work. Buy that special someone a gift. Order those every day items, that take so much time to buy, without leaving your home or office.
The best part is that every time you buy something from a business in the SB&H Mall the Association and the people we serve benefit - even more than when you use the SB&H Toolbar for your internet searches!
So, please use the SB&H Mall for ALL of the online shopping you possibly can! It's easy. Just click on "Shop" in the Toolbar. Choose a category from the list on left side of the page. Select a vendor and SHOP, SHOP, SHOP! When you are ready to check out, simply follow the onscreen instructions so that SB&H receives a donation, from OurGV Rewards Shopping, based on how much you spend.
Hints and Tips For Using the SB&H Toolbar to Save You TIME AND MONEY!
- Research your health questions: Use the SB&H Toolbar to research medicines, diets, nutritional supplements, exercise plans, athletic training or those complicated words your doctor uses.
- Search for discounts to buy online: You can save countless hours and thousands of dollars over a year by doing online searches. Spend less of your valuable time going to malls and stores. Ever need help with shopping ideas? Type in the occasion such as "50th Birthday Gift" or "10th Anniversary". Maybe you know the gift category but need some assistance with specific ideas. Try "Texas Football Gifts" or "80s Video Games"
- Search to research products: Save time by researching what you really want before leaving your home to buy it.
- Save gas: Why drive around town? Find out who has what before you leave home.
- Research school work: The internet has amazing learning resources. Acess them through the SB&H Toolbar!
- Prepare for vacations: Considering a family vacation, but don't know if you can find a wheelchair accessible hotel? Use the toolbar to find out!
- Use the toolbar's search engine the same way you would use the Yellow Pages: Enter a merchant category and the name of your town such as "Pizza San Antonio" or "Oil Change Chicago". Using the search engine in this manner, you will find much more information than would ever be available in the Yellow Pages.
