SB&H Thank Goodness It's Friday

Lottery Calendar

Meet our May artist, Scott Reeve from Toronto:

1. How did you come up with the idea for this drawing that is included inside the calendar.

I was out in Nova Scotia for the first time and my friend who lives in Halifax took me on a tour of the surrounding areas including Peggy’s Cove.  Rather than focus only on the more well-known landmark lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, I took snaps of the surrounding buildings and village as a focal point.

2. Why do you like drawing/painting or taking pictures?

I  enjoy being out in nature, having been practically been born with a fishing pole in my hands; I find that getting out and taking photos enables me to share with friends and family what I find interesting and can express my feelings and thoughts without having to use words to get my thoughts out.  Nature photography allows me to explore, learn and share with others.

3. How did you feel when you heard your artwork was selected for the TGIF Calendar?

I felt very honoured to be asked to contribute to such a mechanism.  Being able to contribute and reach out in such a way as this has really allowed me to contribute in a way I otherwise didn’t think available.

4. How has the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario assisted you and/or your family?

The support that my Mother and Father received through the Association while bringing me up was invaluable. The articles and information that I have access to now, have given me added confidence that I can and do have people out there that I can relate to, they can relate to me and I am able to share ideas, thoughts and concerns whenever I want or need to as I go through life.
